In a world that never seems to slow down. I’ve escaped multiples of times to a place where time has always stood still. A world of ink and paper-that I fell in love with. Started off as writing then progressed to Blogging.
My journey from a casual interest in writing in notebooks-to a deep passion has been an unexpected adventure of taking college classes-,to shaping my thoughts, perspectives, and life in ways I could never have imagined. Now my new found enjoyment of blogging

Writing is my gateway to freedom…
The spark that ignited my love for writing can be traced back to a single moment—a moment when I first received a library card. Fox In a Box was the first book I remember taking home. That initial encounter sparked a fascination that slowly grew into a genuine passion for expression.
This simple book- carried on into my teenage years to when I received a diary for my baptism at 12. At first, writing was a way to escape, a place to pour out emotions, dreams, and curiosities while stuck with controlling adopted parents and household rules.
But as time went on, writing transformed into something more significant. It became my companion, my confidant—a mirror reflecting the essence of my soul. With each stroke of my pencil then my keyboard, a new part of my identity unfolded, revealing a depth of self-discovery that transcended mere communication.
why I stopped.
I stopped for a couple of years after a Writing course professor, at my university, told me I should drop out of his class because “I did not have the imagination to be a writer”. I took that too heart and put away my pen.
The turning point came one day when I decided to share my thoughts with the world on a blog last November. What started as tentative steps evolved into a bold journey as I navigated through doubts and uncertainties. Crafting my blog became a personal odyssey—a canvas where my thoughts flowed freely, unburdened by the constraints of conformity. It was liberating, empowering, and incredibly fulfilling.
The beauty of writing lies not just in the act itself but in the transformative journey it brings into my life. The professor who told me to quit- probably struggle with his own journey of doubt.
With each post I have post since starting my blog, I found myself delving deeper into the realms of creativity, exploring uncharted territories of imagination, and embracing the therapeutic release that comes with articulating thoughts. I’m obsessed like I was when I was deep into my craft in my younger years.
What does writing mean to me?
Writing isn’t just about constructing sentences or stringing words together; it’s about breathing life into thoughts, emotions, and experiences. Through writing, I discovered the power to encapsulate the essence of fleeting moments, immortalizing them within the timeless confines of prose.
The journey from a hesitant writer to a passionate advocate for the written word has been filled with valuable lessons. It taught me the importance of vulnerability, the potency of empathy, and the art of using language as a tool for connection—a bridge that transcends boundaries and forges bonds among disparate souls.
The writing process is unpredictable and beautiful. Ideas emerge to forming my narratives that have the power to inspire, provoke, and resonate with others. Each word is authentic to my journey— self-discovery and growth.
Passing the pen to you-
To those contemplating a tryst with the written word, I encourage you to embark on this journey of self-discovery. Let your thoughts flow freely, unfurl the tapestry of your imagination, and revel in the symphony of words. Allow your voice to resonate across time.
My love for writing isn’t just a passing fancy—I know- it is a lasting relationship between my mind and pen. It’s a beautiful story that I’m learning from still to this day.
Luv, M.A.R.
