Specifically, we need to explore realistic strategies to boost our productivity, and Iโm an advocate for personal growth and habit-setting. When we talk about productivity, we’re referring to the achievement of specific outcomes. So, when working on a project, itโs important to set realistic standards for yourself to enhance productivity. Here are some strategies that I use in my day-to-day life. Keep in mind that not all of these may align with your specific goals, but they might provide you with some helpful insights. Letโs dive in!

7 realistic ways to boost productivity that work!
Understand Time
The first thing I want to address is the importance of understanding what time means to you and how you use it. If you tend to show up 15 minutes late and donโt care much about time, then this video may not be for you. I want to focus on the significance of consistently showing up; even if you can commit to only 10% of your day, itโs crucial to give 100% during that time. This all revolves around the concept of time. Are you aware of how you manage it? Remember, everyone has the same 24 hours in a day, but you need to align your activities with your priorities and determine what can fit into your available time.
For me, understanding time means recognizing the limits of my capacity on certain days so that I can boost productivity at work!. There are times when I canโt overload myself with work. For instance, I might only have 30 minutes to work out instead of the usual two hours. This means I need to schedule that 30-minute workout at home. Failing to understand my limits would lead to overcommitting, which can result in burnout and decreased productivity; a situation we want to avoid because itโs difficult to recover from.
Take A Break
The next step is to schedule breaks where you can just be yourself. Enjoy some quiet time, or if you prefer, listen to music or go for a walk. Itโs perfectly okay to step away from your responsibilities and focus on self-care. I like to get coffee, visit a bookstore, or simply people-watch. These activities help me reset and recharge. The key takeaway is to take breaks and allow yourself the time to rejuvenate.
Prioritize
The next step is to prioritize every single morning. I wake up and set three goals for myself, which may vary from day to day or sometimes remain the same. I can repeat the same goals, but I always prioritize the top three. Additionally, I have about seven to eight smaller tasks beneath those primary goals that I hope to accomplish, which can be carried over to the next day if necessary.
When I prioritize my big three goals, I focus on tasks that I expect to complete; there are no ifs, ands, or buts about it. For example, one of my goals is to ensure that everyone gets new, clean sheets. This is important because you should really be washing your sheets more often than once a week due to dirt, dandruff, and other unpleasant things that can accumulate in your bed. Therefore, we prioritize this task every single Monday.

What goes underneath that goal?
Well, I need to gather all of my laundry for that day and sort it by color, such as whites and colors. I also need to make sure I put fresh sheets on the bed. These are just a few examples of tasks that can fall under my main goal.
As I mentioned earlier, these goals can range from three to eight sub-tasks that support the main goal of the day. The whole point of this approach is to prioritize effectively, focusing on what is truly important and what we must accomplish. It’s about understanding what it means to show up for ourselves. People have told me that I set a high standard for everyone, but thatโs because I hold myself to a high standard as well. I wonโt expect you to do something I wouldnโt do myself.
No Multitasking
The next thing you should do is avoid multitasking. People who say, “Hey, I’m good at doing 50 things at once,” should be challenged to show their work. Thatโs the first step: demonstrate how well you can manage those tasks. Chances are, if you’re spreading your energy across many different activities, you’re not giving your best effort. Don’t argue with me about this; argue with your mom.
When I focus on one task, I dedicate my attention fully to that single task. This is why I mentioned earlier that it’s important to understand your priorities and your time. You need to have a clear sense of who you are. In my opinion, people who multitask live chaotic lives. It’s not calm; it’s like a thunderstorm, with everything happening all at once. Sure, it might work for them, but it doesnโt look appealing.
By multitasking, you not only disrupt othersโ ability to plan around your chaotic environment, but you also make it difficult for yourself to estimate how long it will take to complete a simple project or to articulate the steps to someone else. This is crucial, especially if you’re considering mentoring others or starting a blog or YouTube channel. You need to explain how you do things in simple terms, but if you’re scattered across multiple tasks, it becomes challenging to do so.
So, going back to my main point: multitasking does not boost productivity.
Eliminate Distraction
The next point is about eliminating distractions. I feel like every time I make a blog post, I end up discussing the phones that are always in our faces because they are a major factor preventing our generation from succeeding. We spend so much time being distracted that we fail to actively engage with the world around us. Instead of trying to create positive change, we become consumed by these distractions.
When it comes to boosting productivity in your life,especially at work, being preoccupied with TikTok gossip will only set you back. You won’t just fall behind your peers; you might end up missing out on opportunities you want to pursue.

Now, let’s talk about how to eliminate distractions.
Iโll share what distracts me and the steps I take to stay focused. For me, being on my phone is a big distraction. I’m the first to admit that I have a significant amount of screen time. To ensure my success, I limit my phone usage by setting a timer that restricts how long I can be on it. I also schedule downtime during which I avoid my phone and TV entirely. Instead, I use that time to read, clean, take my dogs for a walk, or play with my children.
During this downtime, I donโt allow myself to be around my phone. However, I do listen to music, which I find to be a great way to stimulate my brain instead of consuming the mindless 10-second videos that donโt contribute to my personal growth.
Plan, Plan, and Plan
The next topic I want to discuss is the importance of planning your day. I run a blog, which requires me to stay updated on deadlines, and as a parent, I need to keep track of my children’s activities as well. Additionally, I have my commitments to manage. Every morning, I meticulously plan my day. I have a clear schedule, down to the minute, because time blocking has significantly boosted my productivity. I no longer find myself scrambling or missing important events.
When it comes to scheduling, I make sure I have enough space for everything I need to do. If someone asks me to attend an event or take on a task, I often respond by asking for two to three days to get back to them. This way, I can ensure Iโm not overcommitting myself, and it also gives me a good excuse to say no if it doesn’t fit into my schedule.
Furthermore, I view planning my day as a form of journaling. If youโre not particularly good at traditional journaling, this method can serve as an alternative. I promise you that incorporating this habit into your life will have a positive impact and help you feel more in control.

Develop a routine and Habits
This leads us to the importance of developing a routine and building effective habits. I took some time to reflect on my life and decided to step back from being online. As a result, I aimed to establish new habits centered around reading, staying hydrated, and working out. Iโm proud to say that I was able to implement all three because I created a routine and committed to my new habits.
When starting a new routine, itโs essential to examine your daily habits and to be able to boost productivity at work!. Productivity is directly linked to these habits and your goals. If your routines and habits donโt align with your aspirations, you may struggle to achieve the success you desire.

Lastly, always seek feedback. I make it a point to conclude my videos on all my platforms by asking for feedback, encouraging viewers to tell me how I can improve. I embrace opportunities for self-improvement. While some may offer unhelpful advice, I value insights from those who genuinely take the time to engage with my content. When someone offers constructive criticism, I not only appreciate it but also explore it further, aiming to understand their perspective and potentially integrate it into my growth.
Feedback is a fundamental part of our daily lives, whether we seek it out or it is given to us. The purpose of feedback is to provide individuals with the means to adjust their behavior and become more effective in their work. I truly believe that feedback can heavily influence the decisions we make. It can change the way we communicate with others by fostering conversations aimed at self-improvement and the development of new strategies. Instead of viewing feedback as merely a critique, we should see it as an opportunity to focus on both positive behaviors and areas for improvement.
