We all have our morning routines, and one thing I’ve come to love is making my bed. It may seem like a simple task, but it has brought me joy and positivity. In this blog post, I’ll share why I enjoy making my bed and how it has made a difference in my daily life.
A Fresh Start to the Day
There’s something magical about starting the day with a clean slate. Making my bed gives me a sense of accomplishment right from the get-go. It’s like saying, “I’ve got this!” and setting a positive tone for the rest of the day.
It also makes the room look tidier and more inviting. Plus, there’s something satisfying about returning to a neatly made bed at the end of the day.
I can’t lie- I just started doing it about 6 months ago and can already see a difference.

The Benefits of Making Your Bed
Tidiness and Serenity
The first task I do every morning is to make my bed. I do this because it helps me start the day with a sense of accomplishment
A neatly made bed instantly transforms the look and feel of my bedroom. It creates a sense of tidiness and order, making the space more inviting and peaceful. Coming back to a well-made bed at the end of a long day is incredibly comforting.
As a stay-at-home mom- I NEED to get up WAY before my kids do so that I can set up for the day. I notice a huge unbalance in my day when I skip this important part.
Starting my day by completing a small task like making the bed- gives me a sense of accomplishment and sets a positive tone for the rest of the day.
I also am a control freak so having a small part of the whole somewhat put together keeps me centered. When my neatly made bed is done I instantly feel the mood in my bedroom look cleaner and more organized, creating a peaceful environment.
A Ritual of Self-Care
Making my bed has become a form of self-care for me. It’s a simple act of taking care of my personal space and showing myself some love. It’s a small way to prioritize myself and start the day on a positive note.
I also have a better sleep environment. Long were the days when my room was so disheveled with dirty diapers, socks, and underwear. Now When I make my bed, I purposely straighten out the sheets and fluff the pillows, (you know that hotel feeling) which makes my bed more inviting and comfortable when it’s time to sleep.
A Reflection of My Mindset
It’s all about finding joy in the little things that make a big difference. So, go ahead, make the bed, and embrace the joy it can bring to your life! Or don’t- life is what you make it; regardless of how you decide to make your bed.
Making my bed is not just about the physical act; it’s also symbolic. It reflects my mindset and approach to life. By taking the time to make my bed, I’m reminding myself to be intentional, organized, and focused on the things that matter to me.
It can also be a part of a morning routine that helps you establish good habits and structure in your day. It might seem like a small thing, but for me, it’s become a daily ritual that brings me joy and a sense of accomplishment.
In a world filled with chaos and unpredictability, this step has become a grounding and calming practice. It brings a sense of order, accomplishment, and self-care into my daily routine. So, if you haven’t tried it yet, I encourage you to give it a shot and see how it can positively impact your day.
